You can also add the 6067-00 Performance Steering Kit to your Rustler VXL. In this photo you can see how the completed rear body post modification looks with the body off Place one of the o-rings included from the thumb washer set over them and you are good to go. Drill out the center holes to 5/32″ and they will thread on loosely to the 4m bolt stud. For body spacers, I used the spare pistons from the shock parts bag. You may need some spacers on the top of the shock tower stud just under the body to achieve the correct Height. Thread / screw the M4 bolt through the bottom side of the shock tower to create your mounting stud. I then followed that up with a 3/16 Drill to drill my stud hole. This will insure your stud sticks up straight out of the shock tower top. Be sure to drill straight an level through the shock tower top. To Mount the Bolt for the rear thumb washer option, I used a small pin drill to mark a centerpilot hole in the shock tower where the OEM Rear Center post would normally be. If you want to use one of the thumb washers for the center rear post, you will need to get an M4x14mm button head Allen screw. Drill a hole In the center of the shock tower that is slightly smaller than the threads then screw in the new steel pin post allowing it to self-tap it’s own threads. The Pro-Trac Rear shock tower does not have the Rustler VXL’s stock center body mount post but you can easily add the center post by using one of the steel posts from the Rustler battery strap kit 3727A which can be purchased for around $3.00 at a hobby shop. This allowed me to keep the same body mount holes on the front and give me the option of selecting different body heights for the front nose. For this reason, I added a 6070-00 Slash 2WD Extended Body Mount Kit. The Rustler VXL uses a slightly different method of mounting the body so some slight modifications were required. Most everything is straight up bolt on with the exception of the body posts and their positioning. To finish off the suspension Upgrade, I added our 6097-00 Front and 6098-00 Pro-2 Clamping Hex’s and a set of 6100-00 4mm serrated wheel Lock Nuts. I also removed the stock Transmission and updated it with our 6092-00 Performance Transmission.įor the suspension I installed our 6063-00 Front and 6063-01 Rear Powerstroke Shocks. The stock Hinge pins were removed and replaced with our 6096-00 Pro-2 Hinge Pin Set. While Updating the Suspension, I decided to add a few more of our latest Performance parts. All components in this kit are used on your Rustler VXL with the exception of the Pro-Trac SC wheels. All suspension components and adjustments install and adjust in the same manner. There are 2 videos on the Slash 2WD covering the front and the other covering the rear installation. For some visual aid you can go to the How To Videos section. The installation of the 6062-00 Pro-Trac Suspension Kit is pretty much the same as the installation on the Slash 2wd.
